In spite of other opinions I think that backdraft were the first pure hardcore band from rostock. They were a four-piece power pack of boys aged between 17 and 19. they were highly inspired by early hc bands like minor threat, youth crew and new york hc bands like youth of today, gorilla biscuits, breakdown and sfa. the band shortly exist from winter 1991 until sommer 1992. all songs were recorded in one rehearsal session somewhen in spring 1992 by using the mics of a simple tape recorder. the sound quality is not hifi, shure. but the most important thing, their amazing energy, has been perfectly preserved.
